IBM and Yotta Launch Sovereign Agentic AI Platform in India

IBM and Yotta Data Services have launched a Sovereign Agentic AI Platform to help Indian organisations deploy and manage AI agents while keeping data, infrastructure, inference and governance controls within the country.

The platform combines IBM’s enterprise AI capabilities with Yotta’s sovereign AI cloud infrastructure. It is built using IBM watsonx Orchestrate and deployed on Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, with availability across Yotta’s Panvel and Greater Noida cloud regions.

The startup is also introducing a Founding Builders Programme for Indian startups.

IBM watsonx Orchestrate serves as the agentic control plane for securing, governing and managing AI agents, while Shakti Cloud provides the GPU infrastructure, networking, security and operational capabilities needed to run enterprise AI workloads.

The companies said the platform brings together AI-agent orchestration, GPU infrastructure, model development and inference capabilities in a single environment.

“With regulations evolving in India, digital sovereignty and open-source models are becoming a defining requirement for organisations as they scale AI from pilots to production. The priority is no longer just what AI can do, but how securely, transparently and compliantly it can be deployed,” Sandip Patel, IBM India and South Asia Managing Director, said.

The launch comes as Indian enterprises increasingly look at ways to move AI projects from experimentation into production while retaining greater control over the infrastructure and data supporting those systems.

IBM and Yotta said their offering is designed to address that requirement by combining sovereign cloud infrastructure with enterprise AI and agentic AI capabilities.

Yotta’s Shakti Cloud and Shakti Studio provide this sovereign AI foundation, while IBM brings its enterprise AI and agentic AI capabilities to help organisations move from experimentation to production,” added Sunil Gupta, Yotta Data Services Co-founder, MD and CEO.

The platform can be used for enterprise workflows including security operations, document processing and HR automation. By keeping core AI operations within Yotta’s Indian cloud infrastructure, the companies are positioning the platform for organisations that require tighter controls over where AI workloads, data and inference are processed.

The collaboration will combine Gnani AI’s Voice AI capabilities with Melento’s agentic AI orchestration framework to build workflows where AI agents can listen to customers, understand context, make decisions and take action across enterprise processes.
