Salesforce Unveils Enterprise AI Harness as AI Agents Spread Across the Enterprise
The architecture is designed to connect AI agents with enterprise data, workflows, policies and applications without requiring companies to build separate infrastructure for every agent or AI application.
Salesforce has introduced an Enterprise AI Harness designed to help businesses deploy and manage AI agents across their operations while maintaining control over data, security, governance and business processes.
The company said the new architecture addresses a growing challenge as AI agents move beyond simple tasks to independently understand information, make decisions, interact with systems and work alongside employees and other agents.

“The Agentic Enterprise won’t be defined by which model a company chooses. Models will continue to change, and intelligence will increasingly be available everywhere. What will differentiate an enterprise is the trusted, proprietary context it brings to that intelligence — starting with the customer — and its ability to securely turn that context into action.”
“That’s what we’re building with Salesforce’s Enterprise AI Harness: a system where every interaction and action can create new context and intelligence, making the enterprise’s context richer over time while operating with the security, governance, and control businesses need to trust AI at scale,” said Rohan Kumar, Salesforce President, Chief Platform and Engineering Officer.
The architecture is designed to connect AI agents with enterprise data, workflows, policies and applications without requiring companies to build separate infrastructure for every agent or AI application.
For example, an agent answering whether an order can be fulfilled must potentially access customer records, inventory data, contracts, business policies and previous interactions. Salesforce said the harness allows agents to combine that information, determine the appropriate action and execute it within predefined controls.
The platform draws on technologies including Data 360, Informatica, MuleSoft and Agent Fabric, Tableau, Agentforce, Salesforce Guardian and the Salesforce Platform. Salesforce said customers will be able to use the capabilities together or selectively, including alongside third-party models, agents and systems.
Alongside the harness, Salesforce is introducing an AI Control Plane that will provide businesses with a central layer to discover, register, monitor and manage AI agents. It will also allow organisations to establish identity and policies, evaluate agent performance, monitor behaviour and control costs across Salesforce and third-party AI systems.
Salesforce said the Enterprise AI Harness is being built as a composable and headless architecture, with access through APIs, MCP, Skills and Plug-ins. This allows its capabilities to extend into platforms including Claude, Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Many of the underlying technologies are already available, while the unified experience is expected to begin rolling out in early fiscal FY28.
