Salesforce to Roll Back Agentforce Branding Across Key Products Ahead of Dreamforce

Salesforce is dropping the “Agentforce” label from several of its major products, reversing a branding strategy that had made the company’s AI agent platform central to its product portfolio, according to a report by The Information.

Two people with direct knowledge of the matter told The Information that Salesforce has reverted the names of several products on its website ahead of its annual Dreamforce conference next week. The changes were identified by comparing Salesforce’s current website with archived versions.

The architecture is designed to connect AI agents with enterprise data, workflows, policies and applications without requiring companies to build separate infrastructure for every agent or AI application.

One of the most notable reversals involves Salesforce’s flagship sales management software. Sales Cloud, which was renamed Agentforce Sales last October, has returned to its original Sales Cloud branding. Salesforce is also reportedly reverting “Headless 360 Platform” to Salesforce Platform.

The move comes less than two years after Salesforce launched Agentforce at Dreamforce 2024, positioning AI agents as a major evolution of its CRM strategy. The company initially described Agentforce as a platform for autonomous AI agents capable of handling tasks across sales, service and other business functions.

Salesforce subsequently expanded Agentforce across its product portfolio, adding the name to multiple Salesforce products. CEO Marc Benioff had also suggested that the company could eventually make Agentforce part of Salesforce’s official corporate name.

Despite the latest branding changes, Agentforce has gained momentum commercially. Its annual revenue run rate—the value of contracts expected over the following 12 months—rose more than 240% year over year to above $1.5 billion in Salesforce’s July quarter.

Salesforce is reportedly retaining the Agentforce name for its broader Agentforce 360 product.

The company has also been expanding the technology beyond its own AI ecosystem. In April, Salesforce introduced its Headless 360 capabilities, allowing customers to connect external AI agents, including those from Anthropic, to Salesforce data and applications.

The latest branding shift, therefore, appears less like a retreat from AI agents and more like an attempt to separate Agentforce from the names of established Salesforce products.

Last month, the CRM giant announced ClaudeForce, enabling Anthropic’s Claude models to work with Salesforce’s enterprise ecosystem. It gives sellers 37 pre-built sales skills to analyse live Salesforce data, update pipelines and take governed actions. Claude is also integrated into Salesforce’s Agentforce platform as a reasoning model.

“By fusing Claude’s extraordinary reasoning with the trusted data, workflows, and governance every enterprise runs on, we’re delivering a dynamic interface that thinks, reasons, and acts. This is how every business will run,” Benioff, said.
