Google Introduces Gemini Agent to Turn Enterprise AI Into an AI Coworker
Google said Gemini Agent can connect to enterprise tools including Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira and databases such as BigQuery, Databricks and Snowflake.
Google is introducing a new agentic AI experience through Gemini, designed to handle complex enterprise tasks autonomously, coordinate multiple AI agents and work across business applications.
“Today, Gemini became an agent. You give it objectives, not just instructions. It plans the work, uses custom skills and tools, connects to your systems and brings back something finished,” Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud CEO, said at Gemini at Work 2026.

Called Gemini Agent, it can answer questions, generate code and execute tasks assigned as objectives, with work continuing in the cloud even after users leave their devices.
It can also create specialised sub-agents to handle different stages of a task in parallel or sequentially, while persistent “coworker agents” can operate as team members with their own identities, email addresses and storage.
"It chooses the best model for the job, has built-in cost controls, and most importantly, has the security, administration, and governance required by your company."
Google said Gemini Agent can connect to enterprise tools including Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira and databases such as BigQuery, Databricks and Snowflake. Businesses can also build and share custom tools and reusable skills, allowing agents to follow organisational workflows and processes.
The system maintains four types of memory covering ongoing tasks, accumulated knowledge, procedures and previous activities. Google also highlighted model flexibility, saying Gemini can select from Google’s Gemini models and Anthropic’s Claude models depending on the task, with support for additional private and open models planned.

Early enterprise deployments demonstrate potential applications across industries. Brazilian financial services group Bradesco has reduced document review times from one hour to five minutes using Gemini Enterprise for fiscal, accounting and contractual analysis, while reporting a 60% reduction in risk inconsistencies and financial efficiencies exceeding 10%.
Meanwhile, Spanish telecommunications operator Orange Spain is deploying more than 1,000 custom agents across human resources, IT, sales and customer service.
Google is also extending the agent experience into Workspace applications, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Chat and Calendar. Agents can coordinate meetings, prepare financial models and presentations, and take on team responsibilities through dedicated Workspace accounts.
