Cursor Launches ₹649 ‘Start’ Plan in India with UPI Payments
Anyshpere, the company behind Cursor, said the new plan is designed to address two long-standing requests from its Indian users: locally priced subscriptions and the ability to pay through UPI.
AI coding platform Cursor has launched Cursor Start, a new subscription plan tailored for developers in India, offering access to its AI coding models, including Grok 4.5 and Composer, for ₹649 per month.
Earlier this month, Anthropic introduced India-specific pricing for its Claude AI subscriptions, allowing customers to pay in Indian Rupees instead of US dollars. The new pricing is being rolled out in phases across Claude's web platform and mobile apps.

According to Cursor, developers in India generate more AI agent requests per user than any other market, reflecting the country's growing adoption of AI-assisted software development.
"Our user base in India has tripled in the past year, with more agent requests per user than any other country," Aman Sanger, Anysphere Co-Founder, said.
Cursor Start is positioned between the company's existing Free and Pro plans and targets developers who need AI-powered coding assistance for everyday software development.
The subscription includes access to Grok 4.5, Cursor's flagship AI model, and Composer, its cost-efficient coding model. Users will also receive a higher number of AI agent requests than the Free tier across desktop, web, iOS, and command-line interfaces.
Other features include always-on cloud agents capable of building, testing, and creating pull requests in the background, support for Cursor's iOS app, and integrations with plugins, MCP servers, hooks, and developer skills.
The company said the plan is billed monthly in Indian rupees, with taxes included, and supports payments through both UPI and credit or debit cards.
