Anthropic Appoints Anand Raisinghani as Head of Industries for India Amid Enterprise AI Push
Before joining Anthropic, he served as CEO of Setu, the API infrastructure platform owned by Pine Labs
Anthropic has appointed former Setu CEO Anand Raisinghani as its Head of Industries for India. Raisinghani announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying Indian enterprises are "adopting AI at scale" and that "how it's put to work, for the businesses and institutions people rely on, matters."
The appointment comes as Anthropic increases its commercial presence in India, where demand for generative AI is growing across banking, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, telecom, and the public sector.
The company has been expanding its enterprise sales and partnerships globally as it competes with rivals including OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft-backed AI offerings.
Raisinghani brings nearly two decades of enterprise technology and digital transformation experience to the role. Before joining Anthropic, he served as CEO of Setu, the API infrastructure platform owned by Pine Labs, where he led the company's growth in digital financial infrastructure.
Earlier, he spent more than six years at SAP India, holding senior leadership positions including Vice President and Head of Professional Services for BFSI, Telecom and Media, and Vice President and Head of Platform & Technologies. His experience spans enterprise software, cloud platforms, data management, fintech, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
The appointment follows a series of India-focused moves by Anthropic. Over the past year, the company has expanded hiring across go-to-market, partnerships, customer success, solutions architecture, and engineering roles to support enterprise customers in the country.
Anthropic has also deepened its presence through Amazon Web Services, making its Claude models available via Amazon Bedrock for Indian businesses, while partnering with organisations to accelerate enterprise AI adoption.
The latest leadership hire signals that India is becoming an increasingly important market in Anthropic's global enterprise strategy.
Last month, the startup introduced India-specific pricing for its Claude AI subscriptions, allowing customers to pay in Indian Rupees instead of US dollars. The new pricing is being rolled out in phases across Claude's web platform and mobile apps.
