Tenable Launches Always-On AI Security Agents to Automate Exposure Management

Tenable has unveiled new always-on capabilities for Tenable Hexa AI, its agentic AI engine powering the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform.
The new capabilities introduce a connected fleet of AI agents that work together as an autonomous security workforce, enabling organisations to continuously identify, prioritise, and remediate cyber risks without requiring analysts to repeatedly trigger workflows or enter prompts manually.
According to Tenable, many AI-powered security tools still rely on manual interactions, limiting their effectiveness as cyber threats evolve at an increasingly rapid pace. The company said organisations need persistent, autonomous workflows that can continuously execute security tasks rather than operate only on demand.
Unlike traditional AI assistants, Tenable Hexa AI incorporates contextual memory, allowing it to retain knowledge of an organisation's environment, risk priorities, and settings across sessions.
Built on the company's Tenable Exposure Data Fabric, the platform continuously analyses exposure data and executes automated security workflows without repeated user input.
Among the new capabilities is Autonomous Exposure Remediation, which scans enterprise environments daily for critical vulnerabilities, prioritises risks based on exploitability and reachability, initiates remediation workflows, and verifies whether patches have been successfully deployed.
The platform also introduces Continuous Preemptive Risk Reduction Guardrails, which perform weekly configuration drift analyses, identify vulnerabilities linked to identity exposures, and automatically generate remediation tickets for critical issues.
In addition, Tenable Hexa AI can produce Executive and Compliance Reports, delivering weekly summaries that provide leadership teams with real-time insights into the organisation's security posture and regulatory compliance.

Tenable said the new capabilities are designed to reduce operational overhead by automating repetitive, multi-step workflows, enabling security analysts to focus on strategic tasks.
The company also claims the platform can help organisations maintain an always-on security posture by executing exposure management routines overnight and during weekends without human intervention.
Additionally, Hexa AI shortens mean time to remediation (MTTR) by automatically analysing scan results, triaging threats, and validating patch deployments as soon as IT teams close remediation tickets, helping organisations address vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
The always-on capabilities for Tenable Hexa AI will be available to Tenable One Foundation and Tenable One Advanced customers beginning in August 2026.
