TCS Names Soumen Roy to Lead New AI-Focused GCC Business Unit

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has appointed Soumen Roy to lead its newly launched Global Value & Innovation Centres (GVIC) Business Unit, a strategic initiative to help enterprises build AI-native Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and transform existing centres into innovation-led business hubs.

Roy, who brings over three decades of experience across industries and international markets, will serve as Head of TCS GVIC and report to K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director, TCS.

He most recently served as Country Head for TCS Canada and has held several senior leadership roles across geographies during his career.

The company said GCCs are evolving beyond traditional delivery hubs into enterprise-wide centres responsible for products, platforms and business outcomes. With artificial intelligence and digital technologies reshaping business priorities, organisations are increasingly looking at GCCs to drive innovation, modernisation and measurable value.

TCS GVIC will provide end-to-end services covering the entire GCC lifecycle — from strategy and setup to scaled operations and AI-led transformation. The offering combines TCS’ global delivery capabilities with an AI-native operating model that integrates artificial intelligence into the design, development and management of GCCs.

The platform will focus on a Human + AI operating model, AI-ready cloud and data foundations, enterprise platforms, responsible AI frameworks, future-ready talent models and innovation ecosystems such as TCS COIN™ and TCS Pace™.

“With TCS GVIC, we are bringing together TCS’ deep experience across the GCC lifecycle with our strengths in AI, engineering, talent, and operations to build high-impact, future-ready global centers that deliver sustained business value for clients,” Krithivasan said.

TCS currently partners with more than 150 enterprises globally across industries and GCC transformation stages.
