Bengaluru-based Physical AI startup SwitchOn (Abee Research Labs Pvt. Ltd.) has raised $8 million (around Rs 78 crore) in a Pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital. Previously, the startup had raised $1.1 million in seed funding and another $4.2 million in a Series A round.

The company will use the fresh capital to accelerate its international expansion, strengthen research and development in next-generation Physical AI, and expand its go-to-market capabilities across global manufacturing industries.

Founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, SwitchOn develops AI-powered quality inspection systems that integrate directly into manufacturing machines.

Leveraging expertise in computer vision, IoT, and artificial intelligence, the founders have built a platform designed to automate quality inspection across industries including consumer packaged goods (CPG), electronics, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.

The company's flagship platform, DeepInspect, uses edge-native computer vision to identify surface defects with sub-150-micron precision while inspecting more than 1,200 products per minute. According to the company, the system delivers over 99% detection accuracy and can reduce quality-related costs by up to 50%.

Since deploying its first production systems in 2021, SwitchOn has expanded its footprint to more than 170 production lines across over 60 manufacturing facilities spanning four continents. Its customers include global manufacturers such as Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and ALPA.

“With this round, we’re not just scaling a product—we’re building the infrastructure for autonomous quality intelligence that will define how the world’s best manufacturers operate. This fundraise aligns perfectly with our long-term mission to make zero-defect manufacturing a reality for every factory floor, everywhere,” Banerjee, SwitchOn Co-Founder, said.

“SwitchOn is building a globally relevant Physical AI platform that addresses a critical need in modern manufacturing. Their strong technology, execution, and growing global customer base make them well positioned to lead the next wave of industrial AI innovation. We are excited to partner with the team as they scale globally," Vikram Gupta, IvyCap Ventures Founder & Managing Partner, said.

“SwitchOn pairs deep tech with production-ready execution at industrial scale. As manufacturers ourselves, we back what we would want running on our own factory floors. Tattva's conviction goes beyond capital. We are proud to partner with Aniruddha, Avra, and the team as they build a global category leader,” Shashvat Somany, SIG Tattva Founder, said.

“SwitchOn’s IP-led quality inspection and defect detection capabilities cater to a meaningful multi-product and multi-geography opportunity, helping solve a critical pain point for large enterprise customers. We are excited to be partners with team SwitchOn in their journey to being a comprehensive quality solutions platform for a global clientele,” Abhijit Joshi, Trifecta Capital Director, Venture Debt, added.
