Sonata Software Appoints Hariprasad Rebala as Chief AI Officer
Rebala will lead Sonata’s AI-led transformation across its offerings, service delivery, platforms, capabilities, ecosystem and partnerships.
Sonata Software has appointed Hariprasad Rebala as its Chief AI Officer, putting him in charge of the IT services company’s AI strategy as it works to become what it describes as an “AI-native” organisation.
Rebala will lead Sonata’s AI-led transformation across its offerings, service delivery, platforms, capabilities, ecosystem and partnerships, the company said. His responsibilities will include building AI-native delivery capabilities and helping customers turn AI investments into measurable business outcomes.
The appointment comes as IT services companies increasingly restructure their businesses around artificial intelligence, moving beyond deploying AI tools for clients to embedding the technology into their own platforms, engineering practices and delivery models.
“AI is rapidly moving from experimentation to becoming fundamental to how enterprises compete, operate and create value. AI alone will not define the winners—the ability to translate AI into enterprise velocity will,” Rebala said in a statement.
Rebala brings more than three decades of experience spanning IT services, enterprise technology and startups. Before joining Sonata, he served as Chief of AI Solutions and Growth at voice AI startup Gnani.ai. He previously co-founded Forfend Cybernatics, where he worked on IoT and conversational AI platforms.
He has also held senior leadership roles at Mindtree, Capgemini and Wipro, where he worked on business scaling, industry practices and large transformation programmes, particularly in banking and financial services.
“My focus will be on building differentiated AI capabilities and platforms with our customers and partners, turning AI investments into measurable business outcomes and sustained competitive advantage,” he added.
“Transforming Sonata Software into an AI-native organisation is foundational to our growth trajectory. Hari brings a unique combination of AI startup and IT services expertise, with deep context of enterprise-grade AI platforms and engineering, delivering to outcome-based models,” Sonata CEO Rajsekhar Datta Roy said.
The company said Rebala’s appointment is part of a broader effort to embed AI across its engineering, platforms, delivery model and client solutions.
