Snowflake and OpenAI Strike $200 Mn Multi-Year AI Partnership to Power Enterprise Data Platforms

Snowflake has announced a multi-year, $200 million partnership with OpenAI to bring advanced artificial intelligence directly to enterprise data environments, the company said Monday.

The collaboration aims to help organisations unlock deeper value from their proprietary data by embedding OpenAI’s frontier AI models into Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and making them natively accessible through Snowflake’s AI services.

Under the agreement, OpenAI models such as GPT-5.2 will be integrated into Snowflake Cortex AI and Snowflake Intelligence, enabling businesses to build secure, context-aware AI applications and autonomous agents that can reason over governed enterprise data across all three major cloud platforms.

This approach helps enterprises extract insights, automate workflows and generate actionable intelligence without exporting sensitive data outside Snowflake’s secure environment.

“By bringing OpenAI models to enterprise data, Snowflake enables organizations to build and deploy AI on top of their most valuable asset using the secure, governed platform they already trust,” said Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake. “Customers can now harness all their enterprise knowledge in Snowflake together with the world-class intelligence of OpenAI models, enabling them to build AI agents that are powerful, responsible, and trustworthy.”

Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, added: “Snowflake is a trusted platform that sits at the center of how enterprises manage and activate their most critical data. This partnership brings our advanced models directly into that environment, making it easier to deploy AI agents and apps, so businesses can close the gap between what AI is capable of and the value they can create today.”

Global customers such as Canva and WHOOP are already using the integrated technology to accelerate analytics, creative workflows, and business decision-making. The deal underscores growing demand for AI that combines powerful reasoning with strong governance and data security in enterprise settings.
