Google Sharpens AI Push With Gemini 3.6 Flash and Enterprise Cyber Models

Google has expanded its Gemini AI portfolio with the launch of Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, introducing a new generation of AI models designed to deliver faster performance, lower costs, and improved efficiency for developers and enterprises building AI agents.

The company said the new models focus on reducing token usage and latency while improving coding, multimodal reasoning, and agentic workflows. Gemini 3.6 Flash, positioned as Google's workhorse model, consumes 17% fewer output tokens than Gemini 3.5 Flash while offering stronger coding and knowledge-work capabilities at a lower price. It also requires fewer reasoning steps and tool calls, making AI applications more cost-efficient to deploy at scale.

Google also introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, its fastest and most affordable model in the 3.5 family. Running at 350 output tokens per second, the model is aimed at high-volume workloads such as agentic search, document processing, and large-scale enterprise automation.

According to Google, it significantly outperforms previous Flash-Lite generations across coding, long-context reasoning, and real-world task execution.

For cybersecurity, Google unveiled Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, a specialised model integrated with its CodeMender security agent. Designed to detect, validate, and patch software vulnerabilities, the model achieved competitive results on the CyberGym benchmark while operating at a lower cost than larger AI models. Due to its dual-use nature, Flash Cyber will initially be available only to governments and trusted partners through a limited-access pilot program.

"Developers and customers building production AI agents need higher token efficiency, lower latency, and more reliable performance. Our Flash series of models is built to meet the sweet spot of efficiency and quality to enable scaling agentic workflows," Google said in a blog post.

The company added that "AI models have become capable of finding security vulnerabilities faster than current systems can fix them. Tackling this growing threat requires an approach to securing software that is highly capable and efficient."

Google said Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite are available immediately through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, Gemini Enterprise, and the Gemini app.

The company also confirmed that Gemini 3.5 Pro remains in testing with partners and revealed it has begun its "most ambitious pre-training run yet" for Gemini 4, signaling continued investment in next-generation AI models.
