Equal AI Raises $30 Mn Series B To Scale India’s AI Assistant For Everyday Needs
Equal AI said its consumer AI platform has crossed more than one million monthly active users and 350,000 daily active users.
Equal AI, India’s first AI call assistant, has raised $30 million in its Series B funding round, secured in tranches and co-led by Prosus Ventures and Tomales Bay Capital.
The two investors had earlier co-led Equal AI’s $10 million Series A round in November 2024 along with founder Keshav Reddy.
The latest funding will support Equal AI’s expansion as the company works toward its vision of becoming India’s AI Assistant for everyday needs, targeting the country’s nearly one billion smartphone users.
The Series B round also saw participation from Think Investments, Valiant Fund, Sameer Nigam, founder of PhonePe, Zubin Bharti Mittal from Airtel Family Office, Anshu Sharma, Co-founder of Skyflow AI, Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President of Meta India and Southeast Asia, and Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Chairman of CtrlS Datacenters.
Equal AI said its consumer AI platform has crossed more than one million monthly active users and 350,000 daily active users across India, making it one of the largest AI voice products built in India for Indian users.
Launched to address India’s growing spam call challenge, Equal AI helps users block unwanted calls, understand caller intent, and take actions on their behalf. The company believes the product represents a shift in how consumers interact with technology, with voice becoming a primary interface for AI adoption.
"When we raised our Series A, we were a young company with a simple conviction, that secure, consent-driven data sharing can unlock new opportunities for every Indian. Today, that same conviction has produced two engines: Equal AI, which more than a million Indians are already using every month to take back control of their phones, and an enterprise platform that has become infrastructure for India's largest banks, insurers, fintechs and digital platforms powering 101M users till date," Keshav Reddy, Equal Founder, said.
“Equal has consistently been ahead of the curve - first in reimagining identity and then data sharing in India, and now is building one of the country’s most ambitious consumer AI Assistants. Equal AI is a category-defining bet on what voice AI can do for everyday Indians. We are very excited to deepen our investment in Keshav and Equal AI who will accelerate to become India’s AI Assistant that will be an AI Lifestyle Concierge for 100M Indians,” Thiago Viana, Prosus Ventures Global Co-Head, said.
The company plans to use the fund to expand beyond call management into communications, financial services, lifestyle, and concierge solutions.
