Cloudflare Open-Sources Cloudflare OS to Bring Secure AI Workspaces to Every Employee

Cloudflare has launched Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI workspace designed to give every employee secure access to AI tools, internal company systems and enterprise workflows without requiring organisations to build custom AI platforms from scratch.

The platform, which is now available through Cloudflare's open-source repository, was originally developed for Cloudflare's own workforce and is used internally by thousands of employees for research, document creation, workflow automation and application development.

A managed version will be available through Cloudflare's dashboard in the coming months, while implementation partners including Presidio and Happy Cog will help enterprises customise deployments.

Cloudflare said the new platform addresses a growing challenge for enterprises adopting AI. While foundation models have become increasingly capable, they typically lack access to company-specific knowledge, internal systems and business processes, forcing employees to repeatedly provide context while IT teams struggle to govern AI usage across the organization.

Instead of relying on disconnected AI tools, Cloudflare OS allows organisations to capture institutional knowledge once and make it available securely across every employee's AI workspace.

Key capabilities include browser-based AI workspaces, no-code application building, support for multiple AI models through Cloudflare AI Gateway, and built-in Zero Trust security. The platform verifies every user and request before granting access, while AI agents receive only the permissions required for specific tasks.

To support enterprise deployments, Cloudflare is partnering with global systems integrators that will tailor Cloudflare OS for industry-specific requirements, existing technology stacks and regulatory compliance.

Cloudflare said enterprises deploying the platform will retain ownership of their AI applications, workflows and internal system integrations, and avoid vendor lock-in.
