Amazon Launches Its Most Powerful AI Model Yet
Nova Premier is also the fastest and the most cost-effective model in Amazon Bedrock
Amazon recently unveiled Nova Premier, calling it the most advanced AI model in its Nova family to date. Available through Amazon Bedrock—its platform for building and deploying AI models—Nova Premier can process text, images, and video (though not audio).
In Amazon Bedrock, Nova Premier is priced at $2.50 per 1 million input tokens and $12.50 per 1 million output tokens—comparable to Gemini 2.5 Pro, which charges $2.50 for inputs and $15 for outputs per million tokens.
According to Amazon, the model is optimised for complex tasks that demand a deep understanding of context, multi-step reasoning, and accurate execution across various tools and data sources.
Amazon announced Nova at AWS re:invent 2024 last year.
"Nova Premier is also comparable to the best non-reasoning models in the industry and is equal or better on approximately half of these benchmarks when compared to other models in the same intelligence tier," Amazon said in a blog post.
Nova Premier is also the fastest and the most cost-effective model in Amazon Bedrock for its intelligence tier, Amazon further said.
The model is currently available to customers in the US only.
