Edge AI semiconductor startup SiMa.ai and Mistral Solutions, an embedded systems and drone product engineering company, have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of autonomous intelligence across the growing drone ecosystem.

The companies are showcasing their collaboration at the Drone International Expo in New Delhi from June 24–26, 2026, where they will demonstrate SiMa.ai’s recently launched agentic environment, Palette Neat.

Co-optimised with SiMa.ai’s Modalix MLSoC, the platform serves as the foundation for an intelligent multi-sensor drone reference design.

The partnership combines SiMa.ai’s AI computing platform with Mistral Solutions’ expertise in drone hardware design and embedded systems to help drone manufacturers and system integrators bring autonomous AI-powered drones to market faster.

The industrial-grade reference design is built to address size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements, enabling efficient edge deployments and longer flight times. It supports advanced sensor fusion, onboard flight control, physical AI inference under a sub-10W power envelope, GPS-denied navigation, obstacle detection, and agentic mission planning without relying on cloud connectivity.

"The drone market is at an inflection point, and winning programs will be built on platforms that combine proven hardware design with best-in-class AI compute. Mistral brings unmatched drone design, and together we are giving the ecosystem a complete, validated foundation to build on," said Durga Peddireddy, SiMa.ai VP, Product Management and Partnerships.

The companies said the collaboration will help address rising demand for intelligent edge solutions across defence, industrial, commercial, and robotics applications.

"Partnering with SiMa.ai gives our customers access to a purpose-built, industry-leading physical AI platform that delivers exceptional performance per watt. The combination of SiMa.ai’s platform and Mistral’s expertise in embedded systems, drones, robotics, and product engineering creates a powerful foundation for delivering intelligent edge solutions across multiple industries,” said Karthikeyan Sakthivel, Mistral Solutions VP, ESAI.

The reference design is expected to be available to qualified drone OEMs and system integrators in Q3 2026.
