OpenAI’s Sora Image Generator Now Free to Use via ChatGPT

OpenAI has made its Sora image generator free to use through ChatGPT, marking a major expansion in its creative AI tools.

Users can now generate photorealistic images simply by typing a text prompt within the ChatGPT interface—no extra app or subscription needed.

While video generation through Sora remains exclusive to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers, free users can fully access image creation.

Paid users can generate high-quality videos up to 20 seconds long in 1080p resolution, reflecting the added computing power required for video processing.

To use Sora, users just need to create a unique username, which serves as a public handle for sharing their creations—similar to a social media profile.

Although users can save their own content, downloading images made by others isn't currently supported.
