OpenAI has introduced a GitHub integration for its Deep Research tool in ChatGPT, allowing users to link code repositories directly to the chatbot. Once connected, the deep research agent can analyse repository content and generate detailed reports based on user queries.

To demonstrate its capabilities, OpenAI showcased an example where the Deep Research tool explored the company’s own Codex CLI GitHub repository.

Deep Research is designed to conduct in-depth analysis across multiple sources and assemble comprehensive reports. Available across all ChatGPT plans, the feature was initially launched last year to support users needing advanced research assistance.

OpenAI's latest model, GPT-4.1, is now live in GitHub Copilot and GitHub Models, delivering cutting-edge AI capabilities directly to developers' workflows. the company has announced.

GPT-4.1 is rolling out across all Copilot plans, including Copilot Free. Developers can start using it by selecting “GPT-4.1 (Preview)” via the model picker in Visual Studio Code or in GitHub.com chat.

According to GitHub, whether a developer is debugging, modernising legacy code, or writing tests, GPT-4.1 is built to accelerate thier workflow.
