NxtGen AI Announces to Deploy over 4,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs; Partners with Vertiv Data Centre Infrastructure
Vertiv is supplying the full physical data-centre infrastructure stack, including power distribution, transformers, switchboards, UPS systems and rack-level power units.
NxtGen AI has announced the rollout of a national-scale sovereign AI factory in India, backed by infrastructure from Vertiv and accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.
The deployment will include more than 4,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs installed through Dell’s integrated rack-scale systems and liquid-cooled PowerEdge servers. The setup is designed to deliver high-density computing for large-scale AI training and inference within India’s sovereign cloud framework.
Vertiv is supplying the full physical data-centre infrastructure stack, including power distribution, transformers, switchboards, UPS systems and rack-level power units. On the cooling side, the company is deploying advanced liquid-cooling technology tailored for high-performance AI workloads, such as coolant distribution units, modular piping systems and high-efficiency heat-rejection solutions.
The design uses ambient-temperature water cooling to remove heat directly from high-density compute clusters, improving thermal stability and reducing energy overhead. Vertiv is also providing lithium-ion battery-based energy storage systems, which offer longer lifecycles and lower maintenance compared with traditional lead-acid alternatives.
Together, the infrastructure aims to support population-scale AI workloads while reducing energy consumption and operational emissions. The project reflects India’s broader push to build sovereign AI capabilities and expand domestic compute capacity for enterprises, researchers and public-sector applications.
“Building a national-scale AI Factory requires not just accelerated computing, but a resilient and scalable AI infrastructure foundation,” said A. S. Rajgopal, MD & CEO, NxtGen AI. “Vertiv’s experience in designing and deploying high-density AI data centers globally, combined with its ability to execute at speed, supports our vision of strengthening India’s sovereign AI capabilities.”
“AI factories are redefining how data centers are designed and operated,” said Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director, Vertiv India. “Vertiv’s 360AI approach enables NxtGen AI to deploy a highly efficient, scalable, and future-ready infrastructure that supports the latest generation Dell compute systems accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell, delivering industry-leading power efficiency and cost-effective AI operations.”
Backed by Vertiv’s Make in India supply chain, national service reach, and regional design and engineering capabilities through its Integrated Business Services hub in Pune, the deployment is positioned to support India’s growing demand for sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure across enterprises, startups, and public-sector organisations.
