Meta has confirmed that its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses — developed with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica — will soon launch in India. However, the company has not revealed how much these glasses will cost in the country.

"Coming soon, we’re launching Ray-Ban Meta glasses in Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates. We can’t wait for more people across the globe to get in on the action," Meta said in a blog post.

Launched in September 2023 as a follow-up to Ray-Ban Stories, the updated glasses feature better design, richer sound, broader app support, and hands-free AI capabilities.

With simple voice commands like “Hey Meta,” users can take photos, record videos, play music, translate languages, and send messages — no phone required.

One key highlight is live voice translation, which works in multiple languages and even offline with pre-downloaded packs — perfect for travelers.

The glasses now support Instagram DMs, calls, and media sharing, along with existing integrations for WhatsApp, Messenger, and standard SMS apps.

"You’ll also soon be able to send and receive direct messages, photos, audio calls, and video calls from Instagram on your glasses," Meta said.

Meta is also expanding music platform access beyond North America, enabling control over Spotify, Apple Music, and more through Meta AI.
