L&T Technology Services has launched its first Engineering Intelligence Centre of Excellence (EI CoE) in Europe, marking a major push into AI-driven industrial transformation and advanced engineering services across the continent.

Located in Munich, Germany, the new centre will focus on integrating technologies such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, multimodal AI, Physical AI and edge intelligence into industrial engineering and manufacturing systems.

The company said the facility is designed to help enterprises move beyond AI experimentation and deploy scalable, real-world industrial applications.

The Munich EI CoE will act as an innovation hub for sectors including mobility, industrial products, sustainability and technology. LTTS plans to use the centre to accelerate development of intelligent manufacturing systems, software-defined products, predictive operations and connected engineering ecosystems tailored to Europe’s evolving industrial priorities.

The launch also strengthens LTTS’ growing European presence. The company currently serves more than 60 clients across Europe and employs over 4,500 engineers supporting the region. LTTS said the new centre will help deepen collaboration with customers, academic institutions and technology partners while driving faster innovation outcomes.

The announcement comes as competition intensifies among engineering and technology firms seeking to capitalise on Europe’s growing demand for AI-enabled industrial automation and smart manufacturing.

“LTTS’ first EI Centre of Excellence in our Munich design centre is a milestone as it brings our deep-tech and EI-based solutions closer to the clients’ R&D hubs across the region. The centre will act as a focal point for innovation, R&D and new product development, redefining how products, platforms and manufacturing are engineered and optimised in the AI era,” said Amit Chadha, L&T Technology Services CEO & Managing Director.

LTTS also highlighted its growing AI research focus, revealing that it filed more than 237 patents related to AI and Generative AI during FY26.
