Databricks has unveiled Databricks One, a major update to its Data Intelligence Platform that brings advanced analytics and AI capabilities to non-technical business users.

Now in private preview, Databricks One offers a sleek, no-code interface designed to make data access and analysis intuitive for teams across sales, marketing, finance, and more.

Databricks One will enter public beta later this summer — at no additional cost to Databricks customers.

At the heart of this experience is AI/BI Genie, a conversational assistant that allows users to ask natural language questions like “Why did revenue jump in Q2?” and receive data-backed, visual responses.

Built on Databricks’ secure and scalable infrastructure, Genie will soon incorporate “Deep Research,” providing root cause analysis and insight summaries.

Databricks One also introduces AI/BI Dashboards for lightning-fast, interactive visualisations and Databricks Apps, customisable applications that combine analytics, AI, and transactional processing in one streamlined experience.

This launch marks a significant evolution in Databricks’ mission to democratise data.

“Every person of every skill level should have equal access to work with data and use AI. With Databricks One, we want to make our experience for non-technical users as amazing as our experience for technical users. This is our first step of making this true so that everyone across the organization can unlock the full value of their data and drive innovation,” CEO, Ali Ghodsi, said.

Key features of Databricks One include:

  • Unified Governance via Unity Catalog, enabling secure, fine-grained access controls.
  • Seamless Identity Management, with integration to IDPs like Okta and Entra AD.
  • Enterprise-Grade Performance, powered by serverless compute infrastructure for cost-effective scalability.
“Through Databricks AI/BI, we developed a suite of dashboards—each of which could benefit any member of Wineshipping. With Databricks One, we will be able to securely deliver these dashboards in an environment that is intuitive and accessible for all users,” Christina Mottolo, VP, Business Applications, Wineshipping, said.

With Databricks One, the company aims to bridge the gap between technical and business teams, accelerating data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
