Wipro Launches GitHub Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru

Wipro Limited has announced the launch of its GitHub Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. As part of its broader ai360 strategy, this new initiative aims to make GitHub a cornerstone of innovation, collaboration, and AI-enabled software development across the company.

The CoE will integrate GitHub’s advanced developer tools—including Microsoft M365 and GitHub Copilot—into Wipro’s software engineering lifecycle. This integration is expected to enhance developer productivity and support the creation of high-impact, scalable solutions.

“By rolling out GitHub Copilot at scale, Wipro is showcasing the transformative power of AI.The GitHub CoE is not just an investment—it’s a blueprint for AI-native development," Kyle Daigle, COO at GitHub, said.

The new centre will be staffed by a team of AI champions, extensively trained on GitHub tools. It will serve as a hub for upskilling and talent development, featuring a variety of learning programs including workshops, hackathons, and meetups. A Community of Practice will also be established to promote collaboration and share best practices through GitHub Champions and domain experts.
