SiMa.ai and Wind River Partner to Accelerate Edge AI Development
This collaboration merges the flexibility of open source with the security, stability, and compliance of enterprise support

SiMa.ai, a leader in edge machine learning system-on-chip (MLSoC) solutions, has partnered with Wind River to launch an integrated hardware-software platform for next-gen edge AI applications.
The solution combines SiMa.ai’s MLSoC with Wind River’s enterprise-grade Debian derivative, eLxr Pro, enabling developers to rapidly customise and deploy AI at the edge.
“Edge AI is the next gold rush and creating significant opportunities across Robotics, Industrial automation, medical, automotive, and aerospace and defense,” said Krishna Rangasayee, CEO and founder of SiMa.ai.
“Together, with Wind River’s long-standing expertise and market success, SiMa.ai is now jointly delivering the industry's best Edge AI platform that leads in performance, power-efficiency and ease-of-use, addressing all AI needs, including GenAI. We are excited to collaborate and jointly enable scaling of AI in all physical industries, on-device,” he added.
This collaboration merges the flexibility of open source with the security, stability, and compliance of enterprise support. Developers benefit from a streamlined experience and faster time to production.
The integrated solution will be showcased at the Embedded Vision Summit in Santa Clara (May 20–22) at booth #603. eLxr Pro, part of Wind River’s intelligent edge portfolio, supports secure, scalable Linux deployments from cloud to edge.
Last year, the startup secured a $70 million extension to its funding round as it prepares to launch its second-generation system-on-chip (SoC) platform designed for running multimodal generative AI workloads.
