Kerala-based semiconductor startup Netrasemi has secured ₹107 crore in a Series A round led by Zoho Corporation and Unicorn India Ventures.

The funding will be strategically allocated to accelerating research and development initiatives, expanding manufacturing capabilities, and enhancing marketing efforts aimed at capturing a larger share of both domestic and global markets.

Founded in 2020 by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma, and Deepa Geetha, Netrasemi develops energy-efficient AI system-on-chips (SoCs) that conduct advanced analytics directly on devices—avoiding cloud dependency.

Their first two 12 nm SoC products are in tape-out at TSMC, targeting AI-driven surveillance, industrial robotics, and smart infrastructure.

“In the new age of AI-based automation and next-generation smart devices, domain-specific optimisation is no longer a nice-to-have feature, it's a necessity. Netrasemi's efficient Domain Specific Architecture (DSA) and optimal intellectual property silicon cores enable both performance and energy efficiency needed for real-time on-device, on-premise computing at the edge,” Jyothis Indirabhai, Co-founder & CEO, said.

Zoho has also set up an R&D centre in Kerala to partner with Netrasemi on AI and robotics.

“Supporting India’s indigenous semiconductor innovation aligns with Zoho’s mission of building self-reliant, globally competitive technology. Netrasemi’s work in AI, robotics, and edge computing presents exciting opportunities for R&D collaboration, especially at our new R&D centre in Kottarakara, Kerala,” Shailesh Davey, Co-founder & CEO, Zoho Corporation, said.
Anil Joshi, Managing Partner at Unicorn India Ventures, added, “The global edge AI market is evolving at a rapid rate… Netrasemi has opened up new markets and will be leading the next wave of innovation in the semiconductor industry.”

Netrasemi plans to scale its team from 83 to 166 engineers and complete production of four SoC variants by early 2026, signalling a major leap forward in India’s chipmaking ambitions.
