Semiconductor Startup Morphing Machines Raises $4.3 Mn to Build India’s First Runtime-Reconfigurable Processor
The fresh funds will be used to develop and test its first chip

Bengaluru-based semiconductor startup Morphing Machines has raised about $4.3 million in its Series A funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund, with participation from Speciale Invest, IvyCap Ventures, Navam Capital, Golden Sparrow Ventures, IIMA Ventures, and DeVC.
The fresh funds will be used to develop and test its first chip, strengthen its product pipeline, and expand its team from 50 to over 90 members. The company also plans to expand globally into markets such as the US and Europe.
Founded in 2006 by Deepak Shapeti, Ranjani Narayan, and SK Nandy, Morphing Machines is a fabless semiconductor IP startup incubated at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
Its flagship product, the ‘REDEFINE™’ processor, is a runtime reconfigurable many-core processor designed for data centres, AI/ML workloads, telecom infrastructure, and next-gen enterprise computing.
“Data Centers today demand agility—REDEFINE uniquely adapts to any workload, from AI to analytics, delivering breakthrough efficiency and lower costs for the next era of cloud computing,” Shapeti said.
Supported by India’s Design-Linked Incentive (DLI) and Chips2Startup (C2S) initiatives, the company plans to begin customer demos and secure early adoption in data centres. Over the next 12 to 24 months, it aims to build its proof-of-silicon chip, sign paid pilot projects, and enhance its software toolchain.
Morphing Machines had earlier raised $2.7 million in a seed round from Speciale Invest and others.
