Salesforce Launches Missionforce to Bring AI to U.S. National Security

Salesforce is stepping up its role in national security with the launch of a new business unit called Missionforce, aimed at weaving artificial intelligence into defense operations.
Announced Tuesday, Missionforce will apply AI across personnel, logistics, and decision-making, areas the company says are critical to modern defense. The unit will be led by Kendall Collins, CEO of Government Cloud and a Salesforce veteran who previously served as chief business officer and chief of staff to CEO Marc Benioff.
“With Missionforce, we’ll now bring the best of AI, cloud, and platform technology from the private sector to modernise critical areas including personnel, logistics, and analytics,” Collins said in a statement. “The goal is simple: to help our warfighters and the organizations that support them operate smarter, faster, and more efficiently. There’s never been a more important time to serve those who serve.”
Salesforce already works with the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force, but it does not disclose details of its government contracts. The move comes amid a broader push by tech companies to tailor AI products for federal agencies.
Earlier this year, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google all launched government-specific versions of their AI platforms, offering agencies low-cost access to enterprise-grade AI systems.
Would you like me to make this headline more critical (highlighting Big Tech’s deepening ties with defense) or keep it neutral and business-focused?
