SailPoint Unveils AI-Powered Identity Security Upgrades to Protect AI Agents and Machine Identities
SailPoint is also expanding security coverage for non-human identities, including AI agents and machine accounts.
SailPoint has announced a series of major upgrades to its AI-powered SailPoint Platform, introducing new capabilities aimed at securing human and non-human identities as enterprises increasingly deploy AI systems across their IT environments.
The new features support the company’s adaptive identity vision, which focuses on providing continuous visibility and automated governance in modern cloud-driven environments where traditional identity management approaches are struggling to keep pace.
Among the key updates is the launch of privilege discovery and classification and privilege insights, tools designed to automatically identify and analyse privileged access across enterprise systems. The capabilities aim to give organisations deeper visibility into potential privilege risks and strengthen access controls.
SailPoint is also expanding security coverage for non-human identities, including AI agents and machine accounts. New connectors for SailPoint Agent Identity Security will allow companies to discover and govern AI agents operating on platforms such as Microsoft’s Microsoft 365 Copilot, Databricks, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow AI Platform and Snowflake Cortex AI.
The company also introduced a new conversational agent within SailPoint Harbor Pilot, allowing users to request system access through a guided, natural language interface.
“We are moving toward a new, AI-powered adaptive approach to provide continuous visibility and real-time governance for all identity types, including AI identities, machines, agents, and credentials. This year, we aim to help our customers move to least privilege or zero standing privilege. It’s about truly securing the business, not just checking a box, at the speed that AI-driven enterprises demand,” said Chandra Gnanasambandam, SailPoint EVP of Product and Chief Technology Officer.
The framework centres on real-time governance, protection for AI and machine identities, dynamic privilege management and closer integration between identity security and threat detection systems.
Organisations such as TMF Group are already using the platform’s AI capabilities.
“Leveraging SailPoint’s AI capabilities, TMF Group has elevated identity governance into a fully automated, intelligence-driven capability ensuring consistent compliance across 87 jurisdictions while supporting secure global growth,” said Saurabh Gugnani, Senior Director and Global Head of Cybersecurity Engineering, Architecture & Projects at TMF Group.
