Reddit Unveils New AI Ad Tools to Boost Brand Engagement

Reddit announced two new AI-powered advertising features designed to help brands better engage with users by leveraging the platform’s active conversations.

The first tool, “Reddit Insights powered by Community Intelligence,” offers real-time trend tracking and campaign testing, giving marketers actionable insights based on user discussions.

A second feature, “Conversation Summary Add-ons,” allows brands to display select positive user comments directly beneath their ads—adding credibility and community validation.

The move reflects a broader trend as platforms like Snap and Pinterest increasingly rely on AI to gain an edge in a competitive ad market.

Publicis Groupe is already using Reddit’s tools, with a broader rollout planned in July.

Earlier this month, Reddit filed a lawsuit against AI startup Anthropic, accusing it of using Reddit’s content to train its models without a proper licensing agreement.

Reddit claims it explicitly warned Anthropic against scraping its platform, but Anthropic allegedly ignored these warnings and continued to scrape Reddit over 100,000 times—even after stating it had blocked such activity in 2024.

The platform also accuses Anthropic’s bots of bypassing its robots.txt protocols, which signal bots not to crawl certain web pages.
