Perplexity Releases AI Browser Comet for Pro subscribers in India
He said Comet will be available to Pro subscribers starting September 22.

AI search startup Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas revealed on X that all Perplexity Pro users in India now have access to its AI browser Comet.
He said Comet will be available to Pro subscribers starting September 22. The rollout, following Comet’s debut in July, represents the largest expansion of users from its waitlist to date.

Comet includes an assistant that can automate everyday tasks like booking meetings or sending emails. Access is being extended to Perplexity Max and Pro subscribers, along with select invite-only users who joined the waitlist.
The company said this marks its biggest batch of users onboarded in one go, though entry will remain restricted as access is gradually expanded.
Earlier this year, Perplexity partnered with Indian telecom giant Airtel to give its subscribers ( approx 360 million) one year of free Pro access, signaling the company’s intent to scale its presence in one of the world’s largest internet user bases.
