OpenAI Partners with U.S. Government to Provide ChatGPT Enterprise Across Federal Agencies

OpenAI has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), offering ChatGPT Enterprise to all federal executive branch agencies at a nominal cost of $1 per agency for the next year. The initiative aims to enhance public sector productivity by integrating AI tools into day-to-day operations.

Aligned with the Trump Administration’s AI Action Plan, the program seeks to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies, allowing federal employees to focus more on serving the public.

"Helping government work better – making services faster, easier, and more reliable—is a key way to bring the benefits of AI to everyone. At OpenAI, we believe public servants should help shape how AI is used," OpenAI said in a blog post.

OpenAI will provide universal access to its leading frontier models, including advanced features like Deep Research and Advanced Voice Mode, with an additional 60-day unlimited trial period.

To ensure responsible and effective AI adoption, OpenAI will offer training through its OpenAI Academy, a government-specific user community, and partnerships with Slalom and Boston Consulting Group.

These efforts aim to help public servants confidently navigate and apply AI tools in their workflows.

OpenAI said security and data protection remain a top priority. ChatGPT Enterprise does not use business data for training, and the GSA has issued an official Authority to Use (ATU), confirming compliance with federal standards.
