Legendary GPU Architect Raja Koduri Unveils Startup Oxmiq to Rewrite the Rules of AI Computing

Oxmiq Labs Inc., the new GPU software and IP startup founded by legendary GPU architect Raja Koduri, has revealed its emergence from stealth after two years of intensive IP development.

Backed by $20 million in seed funding, including strategic investment from MediaTek, Oxmiq brings together a team of GPU and AI veterans with over 500 years of combined experience, hundreds of patents, and a documented history of generating more than $100 billion in revenue at previous companies.

Oxmiq's core offering includes licensable GPU IP re-architected from the ground up, featuring modular scalability—from single-core edge AI deployments to massive data centre chiplets via its OXCORE™ and OXQUILT™ architectures.

These innovations promise radical performance improvements in multimodal and agentic AI workloads by integrating nano agents, RISC-V cores, near-memory compute, and light transport technology.

Adopting a software-first strategy, Oxmiq delivers a unified ecosystem through OXCapsule™, which streamlines deployment across both Oxmiq-based silicon and third-party GPU platforms.

A standout feature, OXPython™, allows developers to run Python-based CUDA AI applications on non-NVIDIA hardware without code modification or recompilation. This portability initially launches on Tenstorrent’s AI platform, with further hardware partners in the works.
