IBM today inaugurated its Agentic AI Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, marking a strategic push into autonomous AI systems tailored for India’s enterprise landscape.

The Bengaluru centre offers hands-on experience with watsonx Orchestrate, enabling clients, startups, and partners to build, deploy, and manage autonomous AI agents and fine-tune Small Language Models (SLMs)—all within hours.

The facility will host developer meetups, “AI Accelerator Days,” and workshops designed to foster co-innovation, while guiding businesses toward proactive AI adoption.

“The IBM Agentic AI center brings this vision to life by urging local enterprises to evolve their AI strategy from reactive to proactive. It will empower clients and partners, to identify processes and workflows where AI will significantly boost productivity, elevate customer satisfaction, minimize downtime and enable users to focus on strategic tasks,” Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President, IBM Software, said.

He emphasised the need for Indian enterprises to evolve from reactive to proactive AI strategies, identifying areas where autonomous agents can boost productivity, reduce downtime, and improve customer outcomes.

“With its new Agentic AI Innovation Center, IBM will drive industry-wide collaboration, nurture homegrown innovation, and ensure scalable, real-world impact within a strong governance framework,” Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India and South Asia, said.

A recent IBM–Oxford Economics survey found 78% of Indian executives believe agentic AI enhances decision-making, and a similar percentage are encouraging employees to explore these tools—underscoring a strong culture of AI experimentation.

With its Bengaluru centre, IBM aims to anchor India at the forefront of autonomous AI transformation, empowering businesses to harness agentic AI for strategic advantage, operational efficiency, and innovation, while maintaining robust governance and ethical standards.
