GitHub Rolls Out Spark in Public Preview for Enterprise Users

GitHub rolls out Spark in public preview for Copilot Enterprise users, bringing AI-powered app creation directly into the GitHub ecosystem.
Spark allows developers to build full-stack applications using natural language, visual editing controls, or code snippets—integrated with Copilot code completions. It also supports launching a repository pre-configured with dependencies and begins coding automatically.
"Developers, product managers, designers, and other team members can centralize collaboration around interactive prototypes, break down silos, and create internal tools that make everyday work more efficient," GitHub said in a blog post.
Admins must enable Spark via enterprise policy settings—disabled by default—to give users access. Once enabled, Copilot subscribers can access Spark via github.com/spark.
Spark messages are counted as premium requests under the user’s existing Copilot plan. With Spark, GitHub aims to narrow the gap between idea and execution. Developers can iterate in codespaces, assign issues to “Copilot coding agents,” and expand functionality with agent modes.
Currently in public preview, Spark is available to Copilot Enterprise users. The rollout follows earlier previews for Copilot Pro+ subscribers. GitHub notes that the user interface and capabilities may evolve during this preview period.
