Cursor Launches Ultra Subscription Plan Priced at $200
The Ultra plan includes priority access to new features.

Anysphere has launched a new $200-a-month Ultra plan for its AI coding assistant, Cursor, offering users 20 times more usage than its $20 Pro tier.
The Ultra plan includes priority access to new features and leverages multi-year partnerships with major AI model providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, and xAI.
"While the vast majority of Cursor users are well-served by our Pro plan, this change was highly requested by power users seeking more predictability than usage-based pricing would offer," Anysphere CEO Michael Truell said in a blog post.
The move aligns with a broader trend among AI companies introducing higher-tier plans for power users.
The launch follows Cursor’s rapid growth, with Anysphere recently reporting $500 million in annualized recurring revenue and clients including Nvidia, Uber, and Adobe.
In April, Cursor, co-founder Aman Sanger said that Cursor was writing 1 billion lines of accepted code each day.
"To put things into perspective, the entire world produces just a few billion lines daily," Sanger said.
During the same time, it was also reported that before entering acquisition talks with AI coding startup Windsurf, OpenAI explored buying Cursor.
OpenAI approached Anysphere—the company behind the Cursor AI coding assistant—twice, once in 2023 and again in 2024 as the app surged in popularity. However, both sets of discussions failed to move forward.
