CtrlS Launches Eastern India’s First Rated-4 Datacentre in Kolkata
The centre starts with a 16 MW IT load capacity, with plans to scale to over 60 MW across four phases.

Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters has inaugurated its first greenfield facility in Kolkata, marking a key milestone in its ₹2,200 crore roadmap to expand digital infrastructure across eastern India.
Located at Bengal Silicon Valley, New Town, the facility is eastern India’s first Rated-4 datacentre, built to support high-performance computing, AI workloads, and hyperscale operations.
The centre starts with a 16 MW IT load capacity, with plans to scale to over 60 MW across four phases. It is designed to meet rising demand from enterprises, government agencies, and global cloud service providers in the region.
“This opening marks a milestone in our mission to make high-quality datacentre infrastructure available across India,” said Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters. “Eastern India is on the verge of rapid digital growth, supported by favourable government policies.”
Kallol Sen, EVP and Regional CEO for Kolkata, added, “The city’s location offers a strategic advantage as a gateway to eastern and northeastern India and neighbouring countries. The local talent pool and government backing make it an ideal base for AI-ready datacentre infrastructure.”
The LEED Platinum-designed facility offers advanced cooling, high-density racks, dual power sources, and multi-ISP/cloud connectivity, with seismic resilience built to Zone 3 standards.
Founded in 2007, CtrlS operates over 15 datacentres nationwide, including in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Patna, Lucknow—and now Kolkata.
In April, CtrlS also announced a ₹500 crore greenfield datacentre in Bhopal. Spread over five acres in Badwai IT Park, the upcoming facility will power AI and cloud workloads across central India, generating around 200 jobs through its development cycle.
