Cohere Expands in Paris, Names New EMEA Leaders to Drive Growth

PARIS, Sept. 17, 2025 — AI startup Cohere has officially launched its Paris office, strengthening its presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The new hub will anchor Cohere’s commercial, policy, and partnership activities in the region, reflecting the company’s commitment to security-first AI for enterprises and governments.

“Cohere is extremely well-positioned to meet the growing demand of sovereign and secure AI from businesses and governments, and we’re excited to have boots on the ground to better collaborate with our new and existing partners and customers in the region. We’re looking forward to contributing to France’s AI ecosystem and drawing from the pool of incredible local talent here as we grow,” Cohere CEO and co-founder Aidan Gomez said.

By month’s end, the Paris team will number around 20 employees, including business and public policy specialists. Cohere plans to double this headcount within a year, tapping into France’s deep AI talent pool. The French office will work closely with Cohere’s global research, engineering, and product teams, contributing to multilingual models and its flagship agentic AI platform, North.

As part of the expansion, Cohere will appoint a new VP of EMEA—an executive with prior leadership experience at a major global technology company—on October 1. Additionally, Stéphanie Finck Piccin, formerly of Salesforce, joins as Head of EMEA Public Policy to spearhead policy engagement and sovereign AI initiatives.

Anne Bouverot, Special Envoy of France for Artificial Intelligence, welcomed the move: “Cohere’s presence in Paris is yet another illustration of the strength of the AI ecosystem in France and Canada. We are delighted and honored that Cohere has chosen France as a launching pad for its business activities throughout Europe.”
