Check Point Targets Israeli Startups Cyclops and Cyata in $150 Mn Cyber Acquisition Push

Check Point Software Technologies is expanding its domestic cybersecurity footprint with a string of acquisitions aimed at early-stage Israeli startups, including Cyclops Security and Cyata, according to media reports.

While financial terms were not officially disclosed, industry estimates place the combined value of the deals at roughly $150 million, with about $85 million attributed to the purchase of Cyclops. The acquisitions are part of a wider push by Check Point to strengthen its capabilities through local innovation and talent.

Cyclops, founded by cybersecurity veterans Eran Zilberman, Elay Gueta and Biran Franco, has developed an agentic exposure management platform designed to provide visibility across enterprise environments.

Its Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM) technology enables discovery and continuous monitoring of assets across cloud, on-premises, operational technology and SaaS systems.

The startup raised $12.5 million in seed funding in 2023 from investors including Ibex Investors, Merlin Ventures, Insight Partners, Tal Ventures and CrowdStrike’s Falcon Fund.

Meanwhile, Cyata, which raised $8.5 million in seed funding led by TLV Partners, is focused on securing unsupervised AI agents operating across enterprise systems. These agents can execute code, access sensitive data and trigger workflows outside traditional identity controls.

“AI agents represent the biggest leap in enterprise technology since the cloud. They act autonomously and at scale, yet no one is watching what they do. Cyata changes that,” Shahar Tal, a former senior executive at Cellebrite and Check Point, who founded the company with Baruch Weizman and Dror Roth, said.

The platform maps agents to human owners, monitors risk and enforces just-in-time access. Meanwhile, Rotate, founded in 2023, built an MSP-focused platform and has had its team acquired by Check Point Software Technologies.

In November, Check Point Software Technologies completed the acquisition of Lakera, the Zurich-based AI-native security company, marking a major milestone in the race to secure enterprise AI systems.
