Apple developers can now tap into Claude Sonnet 4 directly within Xcode 26, bringing AI-powered coding intelligence into Apple’s flagship development environment. The integration allows developers to streamline workflows for building, testing, and distributing apps across iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

Apple unveiled Xcode 26 at WWDC 2025, giving developers access to both OpenAI’s ChatGPT for AI-powered coding assistance.

"This integration lets developers use Claude's coding capabilities directly in their workflow, accelerating app development for Apple platforms," Anthropic said in a blog post.

The same was reported earlier this year in May, where, sources said Apple is testing the models for internal use.

By logging into their Claude account within Xcode, developers gain access to a suite of coding tools designed to accelerate app creation. The coding assistant enables natural language interactions with code, automatically pulling project context while retaining conversation history and supporting file attachments. This helps developers debug issues, refactor code, or prototype features more efficiently.

Additional coding tools include automated documentation generation, explanations of highlighted code, SwiftUI previews, playgrounds, and inline code edits—all seamlessly embedded in the Xcode editor.

Claude subscriptions are unified across platforms, with usage limits shared between Xcode and other environments. The feature is available with Claude’s Pro, Max, and enterprise-level plans that include Claude Code.
