Apple Brings Vibe Coding to XCode with ChatGPT
Paid ChatGPT users can link their accounts for higher usage limits.

At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled Xcode 26, the latest version of its app development suite, now featuring built-in integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The update allows developers to leverage AI for coding assistance, documentation generation, debugging, and more—without needing a ChatGPT account.
Paid ChatGPT users, however, can link their accounts for higher usage limits.
In addition to ChatGPT, Apple announced that developers can now use API keys to bring in models from other AI providers directly into Xcode, enabling flexible, AI-powered programming support.
Apple emphasised that developers can use these models to write code, generate tests, iterate on designs, and fix bugs seamlessly.
Apple also introduced the new Foundation Models framework, which enables developers to access Apple’s own AI models running on-device with as little as three lines of code.
These models are optimised for Apple Silicon devices, supporting local inference.
“Developers play a vital role in shaping the experiences customers love across Apple platforms. With access to the on-device Apple Intelligence foundation model and new intelligence features in Xcode 26, we’re empowering developers to build richer, more intuitive apps for users everywhere," Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said.
Previously, it was reported that Apple is partnering with AI startup Anthropic to bring its Claude models to Xcode.
Reports stated Apple is working with the startup to develop a new artificial intelligence-based coding tool integrated into Xcode.
