Global cybersecurity firm Acronis has announced the global launch of Acronis MDR by Acronis TRU, a managed detection and response (MDR) service designed to help managed service providers (MSPs) deliver advanced cybersecurity without the cost and complexity of running their own security operations centers.

The new offering provides round-the-clock monitoring, rapid threat detection, and incident response, powered by the Acronis Threat Research Unit (TRU). It aims to address a growing challenge for MSPs, many of whom lack the expertise, infrastructure, and resources required to counter increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Unlike traditional MDR solutions that rely on multiple tools, Acronis MDR integrates detection, remediation, and recovery into a single platform. The service combines endpoint detection and response with proactive protection features such as patch management and built-in business continuity tools, enabling faster response times and improved resilience.

“Acronis MDR by Acronis TRU was built to make advanced detection and response accessible globally to MSPs of any size. Unlike traditional MDR services, Acronis MDR combines proactive protection, integrated business continuity, and Acronis’ expertise so MSPs have the ability to deliver secure, high-quality MDR to their clients while minimising complexity and costs,” Gaidar Magdanurov, Acronis President, said.

The platform offers continuous endpoint monitoring, threat triage, and rapid containment, with critical incidents addressed in as little as 15 minutes. Flexible pricing and simplified onboarding are also designed to make adoption easier for smaller providers.

“If you want to build a strong security operation, you need 24/7 coverage and deep expertise. That’s not something a mid-sized MSP can easily do in-house, but with Acronis MDR, we get that level of protection for our customers. We were really impressed by the technical knowledge of the MDR team—the way they investigate incidents, how thoroughly they work and how they communicate. It shows the seniority of the experts protecting our systems,” said Robert Nieuwenhuijse, SIX ICT CEO.

Acronis said the service is part of a broader MDR ecosystem, including partnerships with regional managed security service providers (MSSPs) to deliver localized and compliant cybersecurity solutions globally.
