Zoom Expands Agentic Skills with the launch of Custom AI Companion

Zoom is doubling down on its AI-first vision with the launch of advanced agentic skills across Zoom Workplace. Key updates include the Custom AI Companion add-on, Voice Recorder, Zoom Tasks, and Custom Avatars, alongside enhancements to core tools like Zoom Meetings, Team Chat, Whiteboard, and Revenue Accelerator.

The new Zoom AI Companion continues to evolve from an assistant into an intelligent partner that can plan, understand, and act with minimal input. It integrates across tools like Gmail, Google Docs, Outlook, and more, offering real-time transcriptions, scheduling, and task management.

Zoom Tasks helps users manage their to-dos by automatically generating tasks from meetings or chats, assigning owners, and tracking progress. Voice Recorder brings these benefits to in-person conversations, allowing users to capture and summarize discussions on the go.

Customisation takes center stage with the Custom AI Companion, enabling organisations to build tailored AI experiences using Zoom AI Studio—a low-code platform. Integration with third-party AI agents and tools like Amazon Q Business or Glean is also now supported.

Custom Avatars for Zoom Clips lets users create personalised video messages using AI-generated avatars. Security features ensure authenticity with watermarking and gesture validation.

Zoom has also enhanced Team Chat with better multilingual support, new contact-sharing tools, and private group chat options. Meanwhile, Zoom Whiteboard now supports templates, sticky notes, emoji stacks, and content summarization by AI Companion.

For frontline industries and healthcare, Zoom launched Workplace for Frontline and Workplace for Clinicians, bringing AI-powered tools to retail workers, first responders, and physicians.

Zoom’s Revenue Accelerator now includes AI-driven playbooks and a new Deal Explorer, helping sales teams work faster and smarter.

With these updates, Zoom is reshaping hybrid work, empowering users with smarter, more personalized AI tools across every aspect of collaboration.
