Wipro Partners with IISc to Advance Frontier AI and Quantum Research

Wipro has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development (FSID) to accelerate research and innovation across frontier technologies, including agentic AI, embodied AI, quantum AI, and quantum-safe solutions.

The collaboration aims to help enterprises build more secure, autonomous, and adaptive digital operations.

As part of the agreement, Wipro and IISc will launch a joint research program focused on quantum computing, advanced AI models, secure digital infrastructure, and new approaches to autonomous networks.

The initiative will bring together senior IISc faculty and researchers with Wipro’s engineers and technologists to co-develop next-generation AI capabilities for sectors such as telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare.

Wipro said the partnership will be strengthened by the Wipro Innovation Network, enabling faster co-innovation and scalable enterprise solutions.

“We aim [through the partnership] to address some of the most complex challenges and high-impact opportunities that global enterprises face in an increasingly fast-evolving technology landscape,” said Wipro CTO Sandhya Arun.

The collaboration is expected to generate industry-ready platforms, new IP, and scalable models for Wipro’s WINGS, WEGA, and industry-specific offerings.

For IISc, the alliance expands research capacity and opens pathways for technology transfer. IISc dean Rajesh Sundaresan said the partnership deepens the institute’s capabilities in intelligent systems, digital infrastructure, and secure computing.
