# US Financial Firm Charles Schwab Sets up GCC in Hyderabad

US financial services company Charles Schwab has officially entered India with the opening of a 3.45 lakh square feet technology capability centre in Hyderabad.

Schwab India plans to scale its Hyderabad workforce to around 2,000 employees by the end of 2027\. 

The centre will support Charles Schwab’s US business through technology development, engineering and operational capabilities, including solutions for the millions of customers using its platforms.

The entry adds to Hyderabad’s growing financial services [technology ecosystem](https://www.theleftshift.com/the-9-most-important-global-capability-centres-that-chose-india-in-2026/), which includes global institutions across brokerage, trading, investment management, wealth management, banking and market infrastructure.

Pradeep Menon, Country Head and Managing Director, Schwab India, said Hyderabad’s talent and established GCC ecosystem influenced the company’s decision.

The company also plans to bring select technology capabilities currently supported by contractors in India into its in-house Hyderabad operations, further expanding the centre’s role in Charles Schwab’s global technology strategy.
