TCS Wins Contract From New Zealand's The Warehouse Group to Drive $40 Mn Digital Transformation
The partnership also includes initiatives to upskill the retailer’s workforce in digital and AI technologies.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a strategic partnership with The Warehouse Group (TWG) to accelerate the New Zealand retailer’s digital transformation. The collaboration will focus on modernising technology platforms, streamlining operations, and maximising returns from existing investments across the retail value chain.
As part of the agreement, TCS will bring its expertise in retail technology, data, and AI to help TWG simplify its IT landscape and enhance operational efficiency. The partnership also includes initiatives to upskill the retailer’s workforce in digital and AI technologies.
“TCS will build on our current cost initiatives and unlock the capability and capacity to obtain more value from the technology investments we’ve made to date. The partnership is estimated to reduce costs in licences and managed services by up to $40 million over five years and will help free up our technology teams to focus on what matters most, delivering more value for our customers, communities, and shareholders,” Mark Stirton, Group Chief Executive Officer at The Warehouse Group, said.
TCS will support TWG in reducing technological debt, improving platform standardisation, and strengthening governance.
“Leveraging our global expertise in retail technology, data and AI, we are committed to supporting one of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic retail brands in streamlining their systems and enhancing capabilities through AI adoption and thereby laying the foundation for sustained, long-term value creation,” Girish Ramachandran, President – Growth Markets at TCS, added.
