TCS Taps TPG for ₹18,000 Cr AI Data-Centre Mega Push
TPG will invest as much as ₹8,820 crore, securing a 27.5% to 49% stake in HyperVault.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a major strategic partnership with global alternative asset management firm TPG to accelerate the growth of its AI-focused data centre business, HyperVault.
Under the agreement, HyperVault will be funded through a mix of equity from TCS and TPG, along with debt. Together, the companies will commit up to ₹18,000 crore over the next few years.
TPG will invest as much as ₹8,820 crore, securing a 27.5% to 49% stake in HyperVault. The investment aims to reduce TCS’ capital outlay, boost long-term platform value, and strengthen returns for shareholders.
TPG’s investment is being channeled through TPG Rise Climate and its Global South Initiative, launched with ALTÉRRA, alongside support from TPG’s Asia Real Estate business.

HyperVault will deliver liquid-cooled, high-density, energy-efficient infrastructure for hyperscalers, AI firms, enterprises, and the public sector—crucial as India’s data center capacity is expected to surge from 1.5 GW today to over 10 GW by 2030.
With this move, TCS positions itself at the forefront of the global AI infrastructure wave, backed by deep industry partnerships and an expanding suite of AI-first solutions.
