TCS says it concluded the World's largest AI Hackathon
Over 281,000 employees from 58 countries participated, showcasing the company’s push to build an AI-first culture under its tcsAI initiative.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said it successfully concluded the first edition of the tcsAI Hackathon 2025, marking a record-breaking milestone as the world’s largest AI hackathon.
Over 281,000 employees from 58 countries participated, showcasing the company’s push to build an AI-first culture under its tcsAI initiative.
The hackathon spanned 21 industry-relevant AI themes, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and experimentation at scale. Participation reflected the company’s diversity, with 33% women, 53% local employees in overseas geographies, 36% mid-level and senior professionals, 38% Gen Z, and 29% non-technical staff contributing to the challenge.
A core part of TCS’s tcsAI strategy, the hackathon provided employees with access to GenAI-powered platforms, tools, and learning environments that enable them to integrate AI meaningfully into their work.
Aarthi Subramanian, Executive Director and COO, TCS, said, “Attracting over 281,000 participants is a powerful signal of how AI has captured the imagination of all TCSers. The Hackathon wasn’t just a competition—it’s helping co-create the future of work and democratize AI across our organization.”
Through this initiative, TCS aims to empower its workforce to reimagine how they solve problems, innovate, and deliver customer solutions.
The event seamlessly blended people, platforms, and partners, integrating solutions from major hyperscalers, niche AI partners, and TCS’s proprietary AI WisdomNext™ platform.
Participants leveraged on-demand AI labs, AI Friday sessions, and expert mentorship, making it one of the largest “phygital” AI learning ecosystems globally.
Generative AI also played a role in the evaluation process, assisting TCS’s AI experts in assessing submissions efficiently and fairly.
