Snowflake Launches Cortex AI for Financial Services
Financial firms will now be able to deploy AI agents that draw on structured and unstructured data within Snowflake.

Snowflake has introduced Cortex AI for Financial Services, a tailored version of its enterprise AI suite built to scale across banking, insurance, and capital markets. The announcement positions Snowflake as a critical bridge between data and intelligent automation in regulated verticals.
Cortex AI combines Snowflake’s data platform with embedded AI tools—such as inference, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows—optimised for finance. The new package adds compliance and governance controls suited for sensitive data environments, while retaining Snowflake’s hallmark scalability and security.
“The financial services industry has long been a leader in embracing new technology, and AI is no exception. However, the industry faces unique challenges in navigating fragmented data, robust compliance requirements, and the need for airtight security and governance.
“By bringing AI directly to where their data already lives and enabling secure interoperability with remote agents, Snowflake is making it easier for highly-regulated industries like financial services to power business-critical use cases and tap into a unified ecosystem of best-of-breed data, AI, and apps,” said Baris Gultekin, VP of AI, Snowflake.
Financial firms will now be able to deploy AI agents that draw on structured and unstructured data within Snowflake, then act on insights to automate decisioning, reporting, or risk flagging. Because the solution lives within Snowflake’s ecosystem, firms can build intelligent workflows without moving data across platforms or breaking compliance boundaries.
In related developments, Snowflake continues to enhance its Cortex stack with features like Cortex AISQL, which embeds generative AI into queries, and Cortex Guard, a safety layer for content moderation.
Snowflake’s push into financial services underscores a broader trend: enterprise cloud platforms are now packaging domain-aware AI tools rather than leaving intelligent automation as an afterthought.
With Cortex AI for Financial Services, Snowflake is betting that the next wave of AI adoption will come from verticals demanding both performance and trust.
Earlier this month, Snowflake and other industry leaders announced the launch of the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) — a new open-source initiative designed to address one of AI’s most pressing challenges: fragmented data semantics.
