SiMa.ai Secures $85 mn to Accelerate Physical AI Expansion and Edge Innovation
The fresh capital will support SiMa.ai’s global expansion, fuel software innovation, and scale go-to-market operations.

SiMa.ai, a leader in edge-native AI systems, has raised $85 million in an oversubscribed funding round, bringing its total capital to $355 million. The Series C round was led by Maverick Capital, with participation from existing backers and new investor StepStone Group.
The fresh capital will support SiMa.ai’s global expansion, fuel software innovation, scale go-to-market operations, and strengthen its roadmap in automotive and edge AI sectors.
“This new funding further validates our leadership in the Physical AI space and the growing demand for Physical AI solutions that deliver best-in-class performance per watt with industry-leading ease of use,” said Krishna Rangasayee, Founder and CEO at SiMa.ai. “With strong support from new and existing investors, we’re scaling quickly to extend our competitive lead and meet global customer demand across robotics, automotive, industrial automation, aerospace & defense, smart vision, and healthcare.
SiMa.ai’s flagship solution, SiMa.ai ONE, is a full-stack platform combining low-power silicon with an intuitive software suite. Its components include Modalix, a second-gen multimodal MLSoC now shipping, and Palette, a developer toolkit featuring both an SDK and Edgematic, a no-code visual tool. It supports major AI frameworks and use cases ranging from vision to generative models.
“SiMa.ai is redefining what’s possible at the edge,” said Andrew Homan, Managing Partner at Maverick Capital. “Their software-first approach and efficient deployment model put them at the forefront of a fast-growing market.”
StepStone’s John Avirett added, “SiMa.ai’s technical depth and customer momentum make it a clear leader in bringing AI to real-world edge applications.”
Recently, the startup joined forces with Cisco to streamline edge AI deployment in Industry 4.0, embedding its Modalix AI platform within Cisco’s rugged IE3500 industrial Ethernet switches.
In May, the startup announced a partnership with Wind River to launch an integrated hardware-software platform for next-gen edge AI applications.
The solution combines SiMa.ai’s MLSoC with Wind River’s enterprise-grade Debian derivative, eLxr Pro, enabling developers to rapidly customise and deploy AI at the edge.
