SAP to Acquire Reltio to Strengthen AI-Driven Data Capabilities

SAP has announced plans to acquire Reltio, a move aimed at strengthening its data management and AI capabilities as enterprises increasingly prioritise unified, trusted data for business decision-making.

The acquisition will bring Reltio’s cloud-native data unification and master data management platform into SAP’s portfolio, enabling customers to better integrate, manage and activate data across complex enterprise environments.

SAP said the integration of Reltio will help organisations break down data silos and create a consistent, real-time view of critical business entities such as customers, suppliers and products. This unified data foundation is expected to enhance analytics, automation and AI-driven insights across SAP’s ecosystem.

“Reltio is a natural fit with SAP. Acquiring them will further improve our position as a leading business AI provider, combining SAP and non-SAP data to deliver data context that business AI requires. AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms and domains without connection or context,” said Muhammad Alam, SAP SE Member of the Executive Board, SAP Product & Engineering.

"What we created is not just a unified data foundation. It is an intelligent data graph that connects data across systems, relationships, and interactions to reveal the full context behind the business. That is the foundation for context intelligence, and it is where the market is heading.

"That is why this next chapter with SAP is so exciting.SAP sits at the center of how the global economy runs. Reltio enables the unification and activation of data across SAP and non-SAP systems, creating a complete, real-time view of customers, suppliers, products, partners, and more," Manish Sood, Reltio CEO, said.

Reltio, known for its scalable, API-first architecture, enables enterprises to unify data from multiple sources and maintain it in real time. By incorporating these capabilities, SAP aims to improve data governance, accelerate digital transformation and support more advanced use cases such as personalized customer experiences and predictive analytics.

The acquisition also underscores intensifying competition among enterprise software providers to build end-to-end AI and data platforms. As organisations adopt more complex digital infrastructures, the ability to manage and govern data effectively is becoming a key differentiator.

SAP said the transaction is expected to close following customary regulatory approvals. Further financial details were not disclosed.
